Since 1995, the International Inland Waterways Association (IWI) has been committed to the global movement of inland waterways, bringing together individuals and organizations that support the protection, utilization, development, and proper management of inland waterways worldwide. It aims to raise public awareness of the benefits of waterways in a wide range of activities, appreciate their architectural and landscape value as heritage, and promote restoration work.
